The shelter is a wonderful area for bird watching. There are a variety of birds eating black-oiled sunflower seed and suet. The Christmas bird count tallied: 2 Brown Creepers, 6 Cardinals, 7 Carolina Chickadees, 6 Mourning Doves, 5 White-breasted Nuthatch, 1 Red-tailed Hawk, 5 Robins, 5 House Sparrows, 4 White-throated Sparrows, 12 Starlings, 5 Tufted Titmice, 4 Downy Woodpeckers, and 3 Red-bellied Woodpeckers. Be on the lookout for spring warblers!
